Equipment and Baits that landed fish

How I find them

The Kayak I use Elite Pro Angler 13

Enjoy 5% off on all Vanhunks products by using my discount code Code: CARLOS5. Extremely under rated kayak offers versatility, stability and weight capacity.

My Fish Finders

I use of combination of traditional and FFS, which gives me a mixture of affordability, simplicity and effectiveness. Additionally, I never drilled into my kayak and they both work off a dedicated 16AH Lithium Battery.

Batteries that I use

I have one dedicated battery for my trolling motor (100AH Lithium Battery) and one dedicated battery for my fish finders (16AH). I like this combination incase I have to trouble shoot on the water, multi-day fishing trips with no power availability and balance in centerline weight and lightness.

How I move

Trolling Motor setup

The trolling motor I use is light, inexpensive and yet powerful enough. I have it paired with Auto-Boat Smart system (gen 1). This combination offers versatility (stern or bow), overall weight and wireless via cell phone or remote. Most importantly I can be anchor locked (bow mode) and very inexpensive compared to others.

Vanhunks Propeller drive

I started with just a propeller drive, and it works fine, but I would recommend skipping it if you plan to have a motor. Its not the best system I have used, but for the price its not bad. Discount code Code: CARLOS5.

Ascend Tournament Paddle

If you buy a Vanhunks it will come with a paddle, which works great, but if bought separately it is expensive. Previously I owned the Ascend bought from Cabelas which I recommend as it just as good and 100 dollars cheaper.

Reels

My #1 Spinning Reel

This is my favorite. I love Lews products. Its fast, reliable and fairly priced.

My #2 Bait Caster

I have been overall impressed with Bass Pros Formula. I have rare cases of birds nesting with this one compared to other more expensive reels that I have owned in the past. I highly recommend this bait caster it is a sleeper for sure.

My #3 Spinning Reel

Solid spinning reel, has the necessary speed, power and extremely inexpensive.

Rods

My # 1 Rod

Jacob Wheeler signature series Crankin Rod. This rod is my favorite, I actually was gifted the rod and it has been awesome.

My # 2 Rod

Great rod, I have landed big fish on the ultra light version. I use this rod for wacky and weightless applications.

My #3 Rod

My finesse best rod, it's very inexpensive and I have been very impressed on the sensitivity and parabolic Ness.

Fishing Line

My # 1

My favorite thus far, when I go straight fluorocarbon on my reels, I use this one. I will also use it for leaders.

My #2

I have to see where my line is and I need something reliable, this braided line does it. Additionally its very smooth and sensitive.

My #3

Fairly inexpensive, but effective. I haven't had any issues with any Seaguar products.

Hooks

VMC Hooks

Extremely sharp, never bent their my favorite and the best in my book.

Owner Hooks

Another one of my favorites, they have been consistent. Their underspin is the only ones I use.

Mustad Hooks

Another great hook, no issues. If you are looking for an affordable I recommend these hooks.

worms

#1 Senko

Yamamoto Green Pumpkin Blake Flake is the best by far. Best experience was used in weightless applications Wacky and Texas Style.

# 2 Zoom Trick Worm

Another great worm, I have had success when using it on drop shot, Ned EWG, Shaky head applications. It also, works great in clear water conditions.

#3 Worm

My dropshot go to in darker water, but also works anywhere and everywhere. I have used on Shaky heads and Ned EWG with success.

One of the most productive baits when using the Ned.

Zman Flat Worm (June Bug)
